Caversham, Reading

A place with deep roots

Heron Island sits on a stretch of the Thames where a mill has stood since the Domesday Book. Today it's home to 47 houses whose residents enjoy a rare mix of city convenience and riverside tranquillity.

The old Caversham Mill closed in 1929, a cork factory stood here briefly in the 1950s, and the current estate was built in 1986–87. Herons, kingfishers, swans and ducks are our closest neighbours.
