Heron Island Residents Association (HIRA) Membership
HIRA is here to represent the residents on the island on important matters, such as their rights, maintenance and improvement of the Island’s amenities and environment. It also aims to represent residents with our management company (FirstPort), the local authorities, builders, and other freeholders.
The residents association is more than this though — it is a heartbeat of the community and a place to share tips, information and simply being good neighbours. It is what makes Heron Island so unique.
If you live on Heron Island, you can become a member. Membership entitles you to attend and raise issues, concerns and comments at the association’s Annual General Meeting (a great place to meet your neighbours) as well as any emergency meetings of the association. Members also get access to the restricted areas of the website (including AGM and Committee minutes) and to discuss issues directly with members of the committee to raise on your behalf with the managers and agents of the Island.
HIRA makes decisions and recommendations concerning a number of key matters including suppliers of Gardening, Maintenance Services (maintenance of shared amenities and interfacing with the management company on matters such as external redecorating) and Jetty and Dredging requirements.
